Also known as Crisphead. Firm, packed heads retain freshness, flavor, and crunch. Cool-green, medium-sized heads with fringed, ruffled outer leaves have pale, silvery-white hearts.

NOTE: Iceberg lettuces tend to be more challenging to grow than leaf types, as they need consistently cool growing conditions the whole growth cycle in order to form a head. The growing season tends to be long, 85 days, and the temperatures must remain cool the whole time, at about 55-60 degrees F. It will not form heads at all in warmer areas, although it may grow as a leaf lettuce in these areas. If your lettuce does not head, this is why.

These seeds were harvested from a hardy, fully mature plant that was organically grown with no pesticide or herbicide use.

Start seeds outdoors as soon as ground can be worked. Cool weather plant can be grown spring and fall. Mature in 85 days.
