Luffa/Loofah Gourd, 10 Seeds NON-GMO Organically Grown

The eco-friendly, sustainable loofah gourd grows like cucumbers, but needs warmth and support on a strong trellis whilst growing. They will transform from edible green vegetables into tough, dry, scrubbing sponges as they fully ripen and the skin browns. Harvest when the skin is brown and peel off to use as a sponge by leaving in an airy sunny spot then move to a dry well ventilated area. For cooking, harvest when 4 – 8 inches long and peel (similar to zucchini). Can be used in soups, stews as well as stir fries and curries.

These seeds were harvested from a hardy, fully mature plant that was organically grown with no pesticide or herbicide use.

Start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before transplant date. Do not transplant outdoors until all danger of frost is past. Can also be grown indoors in containers, in a sun room, or on a patio. Mature in 110 days. Can be grown in any zone as long as plenty of sunshine and warm weather for the plant to mature.
